Happiness is a crescent moon

Although you probably think I'm depressed; a lost teenager that thinks 'nobody understands me' which is not true at all. I strive for happiness and believe that should be one of everyone's goals in life. To leave the world happier than you found it.

Happiness is what I believe in.
Happiness is something that you can explain, but isn't exactly tangible.

These are just a few examples of what happiness is to me:

Happiness is rain on a sunny day.
Happiness is the sound of my moms voice in the morning smoothly sailing through the crisp air of my room.
Happiness is the smell of my brother's cologne leaking through my paper thin walls.
Happiness is going with you to McDonalds at 3 in the am.
Happiness is the way you used to look at me, kind of like the way I still look at you.
Happiness is the smell of freshly cut apples on a chilled spring morning knowing there's only a few weeks of school left.
Happiness is the way the food oh so gently melts in your mouth like the premature snow flake hitting the not so chilled pavement.
Happiness is waking up to the sun searching for you frantically through the cracks of your blinds.
Happiness is the nervous feeling I get right before you kiss me.
Happiness is that twinkle in your eye when I ask what your passionate about.
Happiness is the way I act when my brother comes in my room, just to ask me how my day went.
Happiness is blaring ASAP Rocky in July with my two best friends in the car, with the windows rolled down and the smell of BBQ filling my lungs.
Happiness is going to church on Sunday knowing you only have to sit through sacrament.
Happiness is a tandem bike, learning how to try something new while having to trust one another equally.
Happiness is the watching the reflection of illuminated store signs in your eyes.
Happiness is the flowers you gave me for Valentine's day.
Happiness is the phone call asking me if I was ok after you knew how bad my day actually went.
Happiness is the way we look at ourselves in the mirror after landing a triple pirouette.
Happiness is the way we joked around, but suddenly got lost into each others eyes and for a second, just a second, the world would stop, and we were the only thing that mattered.
Happiness is laying in the bathtub everyday before school.
Happiness is unexpected eye contact with the one you swoon over.
Happiness is when people play with my hair.
Happiness is the pointless arguments we had, which would always end with laughter.
Happiness is the look in a 3 year olds eye when daddy gets home from work.
Happiness is driving around the city at night, realizing how still and beautiful the world becomes.
Happiness is the way the sun dies every single day, just so the moon can shine its light for a little while.
Happiness is the rose on your cheeks that you hate, and that I can't get enough of.
Happiness is the concerts I go to, because you can't think about anything but the music dancing its way into your heart.
Happiness is when I had lost my best friend, you came up to me and gave me the most genuine hug, without saying a word, because you knew that's all I really needed.
Happiness is that feeling you get when you lay in your bed at night thinking of all of the dumb stuff you and your friends did.
Happiness is those drives through the canyon, watching your phone reception die, along with all of the other worries of the world.
Happiness is that feeling you get when someone leaves you and you honestly want what's best for them because their happiness is your happiness.
As for me, my list will never stop. Happiness is all around us, and we discover new things that makes us happy everyday.
To me, happiness is the crescent moon on your beautiful face when I tell you you're wonderful.

  2. I feel stupid saying that this post made me happy, because that doesn't do it justice. But it made me happy :)
